SOLEDAD, Calif. -- At least five people were killed and dozens more were injured Tuesday when a tour bus carrying French tourists, including children, crashed near Soledad, the California Highway Patrol said.
The Orion Pacific tour bus overturned at about 3:25 p.m. at Camphora Gloria Road off of Highway 101, skidded on the highway and crashed into a guardrail, the CHP said.
Reports have indicated that there may be up to 10 fatalities, but Adrienne Laurent, of Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, said the coroner's office has confirmed only four deaths as of 7:15 p.m.
